Mississippi AMRAT Schedule

Need to Know Items for Participation

For those of you coming in on Sunday, please meet at the GCRL cafeteria for room check-in between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., dinner will be served in the cafeteria at 6:30.

For those of you coming in on Monday, breakfast will be served in the GCRL cafeteria from 7:00-8:00 a.m.

The general information meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. following breakfast..  You will be given room keys and your “goodie” bag at this time.  Non-GCRL personnel will be asked to sign a waiver.  Sampling stations, instructions, and field data books will be provided to all team leaders.  Bring your GPS unit to this meeting…..it is important that we all record coordinates in the same format.   For those of you heading into the field - lunches, water, snacks, soft drinks, and ice will be on hand for you to pick up.  For those individuals working in the lab, lunch will be served in the cafeteria at noon.  Coffee, drinks, and snacks will be available in the lab rooms all day.  If you need ice for your field trip, please see Harriet or Lisa.

If you are bringing a boat, please be sure to bring : 1) a GPS unit (if you are a team leader and don’t have one please let us know ASAP so we can provide one), 2) instruments to take temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen, 3) a water bottle, and 4) a secchi disk.  Please be sure your boat has all necessary safety equipment.

We are attaching the Field and Lab logistics sheets to identify team leaders and to show where we have placed everyone for the week.   This will be a “fluid” working schedule and is subject to change…….please check in at the cafeteria each morning so we can accommodate changes to the schedule as needed.

If you have a cell phone and have not sent us the number, please do so.  It is important that we be able to contact you.  Each team leader will be provided with a list of phone numbers.  There will be publicity  people here from a variety of  media and they may want to view your particular sampling operation.  There will be a “runner” boat to take the media  people to different areas.

If you have any questions, please contact Harriet Perry or Lisa Hendon.

We look forward to seeing you all next week!!!!!

Marsh…..mud…….critters……its all here waiting for you in Mississippi.
