Dumpster Locations |
Please note, the collection of crab traps from
Alabama waters, at anytime outside the regulated volunteer day, is
considered illegal unless otherwise properly permitted to do so.
Dumpster
Captain Responsibilities:
-
Show up at respective
dumpster from 8 AM - Noon, Saturday, March 11, 2006
-
Collect all data sheets
associated with traps.
-
Collect full names and
addresses of participants with recorded volunteer hours to ensure they
can be properly thanked.
-
Keep accurate count of traps
going into dumpster
-
Read brochure and have
copies to supply to interested people.
-
Wear boots or other type of
footwear for smashing traps as flat as possible.
-
Help move traps from boats
to dumpster and place traps into dumpster.
-
We will provide you with
data sheets (example)
to record number of traps and bycatch to hand out to people working the
water.
-
Provide data sheets to AMRD/NEP
staff or office (self addressed, stamped envelopes enclosed with supply
packet.
-
Some time may be spent with
low activity, be prepared with a book or game.
Dumpster Locations
- not complete - we are currently finalizing dumpster locations.
Due to Hurricane Katrina cleanup efforts, Mississippi Sound will not be
included in the program this year.
Derelict Traps may be taken 500 yards from shoreline to any of
the following locations on March 11, 2006.
