Area Earth Day General Information Location: With the acception of one year, the even is held in the Fairhope Pier Park, Fairhope, Alabama on the third Sunday in April. Attendance: We believe this to be Alabama’s largest Earth Day event. While numbers vary from year to year, we average approximately 3000 to 4000 people for an afternoon. Organization: The event is organized through a committee of volunteers with the Alabama Environmental Council Jubilee Chapter. Sponsorship: Partners are solicited for sponsorship in the yearly event. This participation includes cash awards, materials, and committee participation. Entrance to the event is free. Exhibitors: All exhibitors must be pre-approved through the AEC event committee. We are looking for strictly environmental themes and education related material. Activities for children are highly encouraged. Exhibitor Sales: All materials sold must be pre-approved by the AEC event committee and a fee will be required. Food Vendors: We only work with one food vendor arranged through our committee. We do not accept solicitations from other fair type food vendors. Free transportation is arranged between the Fairhope Civic Center and the park. Traffic is not allowed through the Fairhope Pier park between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. About the Alabama Environmental Council From their Website: www.aeconline.ws For more than 33 years, the Alabama Environmental Council (formerly the Alabama Conservancy) has been the only Alabama-based, statewide, non-profit, citizen-led organization committed to the protection and enhancement of our state's natural resources and environment.
