Introduction
Human Uses
The management plan defines the objective of the human uses issue as to: "provide consistent, enforceable, regional land and water use management that ensures smart growth for sustainable development and decreases the negative impacts of growth-related activities on human health and safety, public access, and quality of life by developing and implementing plans consistent with the CCMP by 2006." The following sections address human uses: Sustainable Land Use Planning, Hydrologic Modification, and Public Access.

Contributing Factors
An interactive graphic shows how everyday human activities in coastal watersheds increase pressures along the coast. When not managed wisely, these activities can negatively impact the health of coastal environments.
