Program Lead - Community Engagement

Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, dedicated to promoting the wise stewardship of Alabama’s Estuaries and coast, is seeking a highly skilled Monitoring and Science Program Leader for our Management Conference. The successful candidate will help us build community engagement with a goal of conserving the things people value about living along the Alabama Coast: Access, Shorelines, Fish and Wildlife, Heritage, and Culture, Environmental and Community Resilience; and Swimmable and Fishable Waters. The Community Engagement Program Lead will: Build and support the Community Action Committee through recruitment of key individuals who can help guide the growth of grassroots organizations and volunteer citizen scientists. Engage diverse communities in supporting CCMP-related initiatives; Provide program development including but not limited to drafting, research, analysis, facilitation, and funding of projects identified in the requisite section of the CCMP; Educate target audiences about issues affecting the Alabama coast and activities being undertaken to mitigate stress on coastal resources.

Qualifications: Minimum of a BS in related field; A minimum of 5 years of experience in community relations; Knowledge of local and regional environmental issues; Excellent written and oral communication skills.
