Current Opening: Deputy Director

Background: The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program (MBNEP), a division of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab- brings federal, State, regional, and local governments; citizens, non-profits, and grassroots groups; local business and industry; and the natural resource management community together to promote the wise stewardship of Alabama’s estuaries and coast. The Deputy Director will be responsible for leading continuous improvement of MBNEP’s internal operations, including oversight of financial, programmatic and grants management; championing design of management conference initiatives with a focus on enhancing implementation of the CCMP and building community capacity to protect coastal resources; and coordinating communication of status and trends of estuarine indicators, populations, restorations, and stressors. The successful candidate will have a passion for environmental sustainability issues. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, environmental, project management, environmental engineering, urban and regional planning, policy analysis, public administration, or a related field and at least seven years of related experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of supervisory experience and excellent written and oral communication skills.
