Tiffany England moved to Mobile in 1992 to attend the University of South Alabama to study business and accounting. A year later, she accepted a position at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab’s Accounting Department, where she was happily employed for 10 years. During her DISL tenure, she met and married David England, a co-worker, and a particularly good guy. In 2004, she was recruited to the MBNEP staff to serve as the Finance and Grants Manager, as David became the DISL’s Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
Tiffany manages tens of millions of dollars of grants from the EPA for Program management and external sources to fund the Program’s various projects. Apart from meticulous financial management, Tiffany’s recognized area of particular expertise (and enjoyment) is event planning. To its attendees, the 2013 Association of National Estuary Program’s Annual Tech Transfer Meeting in Mobile stands out as a shining example of her ability to put on an amazing and memorable show. Bays and Bayous Symposium is a major conference where Tiffany's event planning talent helps assure everything flows smoothly.
The Englands have raised two children, Zachary and Erin. With Erin attending the University of South Alabama, Tiffany and David are adjusting to life as empty nesters. Their backyard pool and cabana (The Crooked Corner), Auburn football games (among other party excuses) draw relatively large, festive crowds. The England household menagerie includes Dixie, a “mature” dachshund; Roux, a brown rescue mutt and heart stealer; and Mardi, a cat born on Fat Tuesday.
