Education and Public Involvement (EPI)

EPI BB

The biennial Bays and Bayous Symposium showcases the latest scientific research of the ecosystems and the estuaries of the Northern Gulf Coast.

When people understand and feel connected to their environment, they are more committed to taking care of it. This is one of the reasons why public education and engagement are crucial to the work of the MBNEP.

MBNEP provides education and engagement opportunities by developing and conducting outreach and awareness campaigns, field trips, lectures, videos, and hands-on environmental stewardship experiences.

These activities build stewardship and enhance the quality of life by experientially connecting people to their watersheds, estuarine and coastal habitats, and all the living things that depend upon them.
